Diversity in iteroparous Penna Model with delayed mutations

Abstract

The Penna bit string model is used as a framework for the genetic diversity investigations of iteroparous population with delayed mutations. We used a Shannon-type measure to quantify genetic diversity. At stable populations, the diversity decreases with increasing mutation delay. Cases with longer mutation delay have higher populations and extended lifespans.
