In Retrospect: Special Section on Physics Education
Abstract
The Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas started featuring SPP congress presentations on physics education in 1997. Since then, more than 130 plenary, oral, or poster presentations on physics education have been featured in the SPP Physics Congresses. The previous section showed the current efforts of Christopher Bernido and Maria Victoria Carpio-Bernido and their project entitled, "On a low budget large-scale high-impact science learning program for Philippine schools." The Bernidos' successful attempt to improve the teaching of high school physics in a rural area located south of Manila and their efforts to have their novel practices replicated on a wider scale have recently attracted attention nationally and within the Asian region.
In this special section, we take the opportunity to look to physics education contributions that have been more memorable physics education presentations in the National Physics Congresses organized by SPP.
