Abstract

A technique for the quantitative evaluation of volume refractive objects using phase maps and statistical fringe analysis is presented. The technique utilizes the relative phase shifts corresponding to the overlapping and non-overlapping phase structures to determine the physical thickness of the transparent sample. The technique can be applied in the quantitative
investigations of unstained cell structures.
