Abstract

A deterministic phase retrieval method based on a moving pinhole pair is proposed. Given a complex wave incident on the two pinholes, the phase difference across the pinholes is calculated using a recorded interferogram and the locations of the pinholes. The advantage of dynamic referencing (i.e., moving both pinholes compared to one pinhole at a fixed location) is the simpler processing of interferograms. Smooth wavefronts (phase difference values within a –π to π range) were successfully reconstructed demonstrating the effectiveness of the technique.
