Abstract

In response to the Philippines growing problem in air pollution, a custom-made Differential Optical Absorption Spectrometer is being built in the Manila Observatory. Unique to the spectrometer is the Calibration System. In this paper, we focus on the development of the ozone detector for the calibration system. Using a gas chamber, a UV light source and the S8746-01 photodiode, an ozone detector was successfully fabricated. The setup was tested for its given photodiode output voltage and its corresponding concentration.
