Abstract

We obtain the evolution of a two-qubit and a three-qubit system interacting with its neighbors and are immersed in a common single-mode reservoir. From the solution, the dynamics of entanglement between two qubits is studied. Addition of a third qubit to initially unentangled bipartite system helps prevent entanglement sudden death, although it has an opposite effect for initially entangled qubits, causing the initial entanglement to significantly decrease.
