Abstract

We advanced designing a fusion produced lost α diagnostics technique. To acquire the spatial loss distribution onto the first wall, 4.44 MeV γ-ray induced by 9Be(α, nγ) 12C is imaged by a detector when energetic α-particles collide with the first wall made of beryllium. In order to develop a 4.44 MeV γ-ray imaging system, the design of collimator for this purpose is discussed by simulating irradiation of 4.44 MeV γ-rays onto the array detectors in EGS5 code. We examined two types of collimators which are a pinhole collimator and a parallel hole collimator. Although the optimization has not been completed yet, some example cases are demonstrated in this paper.
