Abstract

We present a zero order suppression technique for a reconstructed target by applying a correction to the hologram to introduce a destructively interfering beam at the location of the zero-order field. The simulation results show a successful suppression of the zero-order diffraction, with maximum destructive interference at φ = π. Experimental result shows a decrease of up to 56% in the zero-order diffraction intensity. A scan through relevant parameters show that the SLM has 80% active regions and that the dead regions introduces a non-zero phase.
