Abstract

We report on two workshops held under the VISSERTM (Versatile Instrument System for Science Education and Research) program held in University of the Philippines Diliman and in University of San Carlos in Talamban, Cebu. VISSER is a collaborative program which aims to address the critical need for science laboratories in the Philippines. The goal is to design and develop home-grown experimental modules based on a handheld microcontroller-based universal platform in the subject areas of physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science and engineering. We present in this paper the results of the two workshops conducted as part of the idea generation and prototype creation phase.
