Abstract

To see the effects of both Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interactions on a spin-polarized electron along a curved path, we obtain the system’s exact energy spectrum taking into account the Zeeman effect. This approximates the motion of an electron in a one-dimensional wire. Our results show that the lifted degeneracy between spins of opposite polarization does not only depend on both Rashba and Dresselhaus coupling constants, but also on the radius of curvature.
