Abstract

This paper presents the results of two different light level assesments on the art collections in the second floor main gallery of Jorge B. Vargas Museum. The light level on each artwork was measured at different time intervals and when different light sources are present in the main gallery. The cumulative and average light level for each day of measurements were calculated. The light levels at different locations in the gallery were interpolated using the Radial Basis Function. Finally, locations in the gallery at which the artworks may be at greater risk of light damage were determined.
