AC magnetic susceptibility measurement of mixed valence MnO

Abstract

Magnetic behavior of MnO particles using AC susceptibility measurement is investigated. The samples show an antiferromagnetic ordering at T_N ≈ 40 K. X-ray diffraction confirms the formation of mixed valences of manganese oxide dominating the antiferromagnetic behavior of the compound. Particle size dependence shows an increase in the magnetization of the sample.
