Abstract

A model equivalent to cellular automaton rule 184 was used to simulate uni-directional traffic flow on a highway in open boundary conditions where vehicles move with randomization probabilities. In an unregulated vehicular flow, several elements were accounted for elimination of perilous behavioral factors. This paper provided simulation for mult-ilane traffic flow where vehicles change lanes, accelerate, and decelerate after gap computation between a vehicle and one ahead. We investigated the elements and describe the theories for the calculation of the flow properties.
