Abstract

We extend the work done in [E.A.Galapon, Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 170402(5), 2012] by considering a wave packet with support extending in-side the barrier region. In particular, we calculate the time of arrival delay of an incident Gaussian wave-packet as it traverse a barrier region. It turns out that the arrival time delay is of exponential order and oscillatory. Also, the observed delay is not necessarily due to the above the barrier energy component of the incident wave-packet. We also provide some possible explanations for the different sign of the time of arrival delay.
