Abstract

To test the effectiveness of Versatile Instrumentation System for Science Education and Research (VISSER) as teaching tool it was employed in an actual classroom set-up in two schools in Oriental Mindoro province. The use of VISSER in hands-on experiment shows positive immediate impact in the student’s cognitive learning based on their attained Hake gain. Negative Hake gain that indicates formation of misconception or confusion is also less likely when students use VISSER in actual experimentation as compared to a teaching demonstration.
