Abstract

Computer generated holograms are used to generate diffuse illumination beam for the single-beam multiple-intensity reconstruction (SBMIR) technique. The holograms are computed using the detour phase method. The holograms are encoded by a laser printer on a transparency film, and experimentally tested by using a positive lens as a test object for the SBMIR technique. The holograms are shown to be a viable alternative to diffuser glass plates traditionally used in SBMIR.
