Abstract

We present a new algorithm for phase reconstruction from multiple intensity measurements. Conventional implementation of the multiple-plane phase retrieval involves sequentially propagating the field to the measurement planes, updating the field at each plane using the observed amplitude. Here, we first propagate the field to a virtual intermediate plane before propagating it to the next measurement plane. We demonstrate from simulations and experiments that we can achieve faster reconstruction and better spatial resolution without introducing any additional physical element on the set-up.
